What is FolioSpace Reader?
FolioSpace Reader is a native Apple Vision Pro, iPad, and iPhone app for reading personal EPUB, PDF, CBZ, and ZIP files. On Vision Pro it turns the space around you into a focused reading room; on iPhone and iPad it keeps the same library and reading flow close at hand.
A study, not a stage set
The page is the center of the room.
FolioSpace does not ask you to arrange a simulated shelf before you can read. Open a book, place the window at a comfortable distance, choose the page scale and sound you want, then let the controls recede.
Set the reading scale
Use a generous page, a two-page spread, Focus Mode, or a smaller physical-scale Mini Book.
Keep your place
Reading progress, bookmarks, reading time, and recent books remain part of the reading surface.

Mini Book Mode brings the page back to human scale.
Mini Book Mode presents the book as a smaller, physical-scale reading object instead of filling a large floating window.
It reduces the preferred reading window, keeps the page proportions compact, and adds subtle page-stack and cover-edge details. The goal is not to model a decorative 3D book; it is to make a quiet object that feels natural to hold in your field of view.

Mini Book Mode appears for users with Folio Space Pro.

Use the dedicated exit control when you want the larger reading surface again.
A room can have a sound
Ambient sound, generated locally.
Choose a soundscape and volume inside Reader Settings. FolioSpace generates the audio on the device; it does not need to stream a long audio track.

Reading tools
Keep the text quiet. Let artwork open up.
Focus Mode hides surrounding chrome. Layout presets, text size, line spacing, paragraph spacing, first-line indent, page width, and themes let each book settle into a readable shape. Long-press an illustration to open it in a dedicated viewer.
iPhone and iPad
Tap the page. The interface gets out of the way.
Books, PDFs, and comics enter full screen automatically on iPhone and iPad. Tap the center area of the reading surface to reveal or hide navigation and reading controls.
- Center tap: toggles full screen and reader chrome without competing with page-turn edges.
- iPad portrait: favors a single readable page.
- iPad landscape: switches to a two-page spread when the current mode supports it.
- Comics and PDFs: support single, double, and long-scroll Webtoon layouts where applicable.

What is Mini Book Mode?
It is a Pro reading experiment that presents the Vision Pro reading surface as a smaller, physical-scale book-like object. Enable it in Reader Settings under Experimental.
Does it turn pages with eyes alone?
No. Assistive Page Controls use gaze to focus a side control, then require a pinch or visionOS Dwell Control to activate the page turn.
Are the ambient sounds streamed?
No. Rain, waves, brown noise, pink noise, forest, fireplace, cafe, and Zen Temple soundscapes are generated locally on the device.
How do I enter or leave full screen on iPhone or iPad?
The reader opens full screen. Tap the center region of the page to show or hide the controls; the outer page-turn areas remain available for navigation.
Does FolioSpace provide books or comics?
No. FolioSpace is a reader and self-hosted library client for files and private services that you control. It does not bundle or distribute reading content.
Do I need FolioSpace Library to use the reader?
No. You can import supported files directly. FolioSpace Library is optional when you want a self-hosted NAS or Docker library shared across devices.
